Below is a selection of feedback from families who have stayed at Sungate.

It’s been 18 years since we have been away all together as a family. Such a lovely home and a lot of thought on how to make life easier for families of autistic children e.g. child-friendly locks, wetroom bathroom, sensory corner toybox, and so much more.

We had the most amazing stay at sungate. Not having to worry about how the house was for our two neurodiverse boys is something I never thought we really needed. We came home refreshed even though we had been very busy. we didn’t stress about the little things.
 
Tamsin and David took care of everything. The communication with them was the best we have come across and the house was so well fitted to our family. Spinny chairs were a huge hit. the safe space bed had our child sleeping so well.
 

Thank you Tamsin and David for making it all so wonderful and easy for us. we can’t wait to visit again.

Thank you so much to Tasmin & David for coming up with the idea of Sungate and for the opportunity to use it & make wonderful memories there.
 
Riley is just under 3.5 years old &, as he is so routined & gets agitated very easily when he doesn’t understand where he is or what he is doing, we haven’t attempted to holiday with him but, finding Sungate allayed all our fears. A home away from home (as we live in a bungalow) &, by the end of the week, Riley was so used to his new routine & ‘home’ he seemed to be sad when we got home as he wasn’t at Sungate any longer.
 
Tamsin & David have an amazing set up at Sungate, they send a guidebook for the stay a week beforehand with all the information you need to know about the accommodation &, places to go & see around Bath and have recommendations for autistic friendly places to go too which is fantastic.
 

The property itself is spacious, clean, warm, inviting & extremely safe. Has absolutely everything you could ask for &, no request was too big (we were messaging days before asking for bed guards, nappy bins etc). It was easy to sit back & feel relaxed there & know Riley was happy. We will definitely be booking again in the future &, recommending to people as we know there are other families out there like us who will appreciate this. Keep up the fantastic work, Tasmin & David. We need more people out there like you two.

We had a wonderful stay at Sungate!
 
David and Tamsin are incredibly thoughtful hosts and went above and beyond to make sure the house was safe, inviting and comfortable for my daughter, even including a social story to share with her in the weeks before our holiday and symbols and a communication board to use while we were there.
 
We also really appreciated their recommendations of places to visit that are particularly accommodating of autistic people’s needs. We really appreciated how much time and effort they went to in making our stay as easy, supportive and enjoyable as possible.
 
My daughter is very sensory seeking and she adored using the trampoline board, gym mats, egg chairs and indoor swing as well as the laser light display in the bedroom. The facilities are great with very comfortable beds and an amazing powder rain shower as well as a bath
 
The millionaires shortbread provided was delicious and very much appreciated too. Thank you so much Tamsin and David, we would love to visit again in future.

Fabulous stay at Sungate!!!!
 
We stayed with our 3 girls 11,8 and 4. They loved the bungalow, with all its well thought out additional extras which just made our stay even more special. The bungalow was so clean and tidy and the sensory equipment was perfect for our daughters needs.
Tamsin was kind, friendly and a pleasure to deal with!!!
 
So lovely to stay somewhere that our child’s needs are acknowledged, excepted and encouraged. Thank you!

It was a really lovely place with lots of thought gone in to everything. The kids particularly enjoyed the indoor swing and board games, and of course the easter lollies! Our youngest was also enchanted by the lights in the bedroom. We were also thank ful for the coffee machine. 😆

This was our first visit to Bath with our son Patrick. It is really difficult to find the right sort of accommodation to suit Patrick’s needs, such as space and a quiet but stimulating environment. Sungate provided all of this and more. Not only was the bungalow bright and clean, it allowed Patrick to find Spaces where he could relax, wether it was the bedroom with its light projector or a simple rocking chair. Despite the occasional shower we managed to make our way into Bath on the bus and have a tour of the city, taking Patrick’s preferred route on each occasion! Tamsin was on hand at all times if we had any questions ,which was good to know.

We all had an enjoyable break and would not hesitate in recommending Sungate, Bath.

We stayed at Sungate and it was absolutely glorious!

The place was spotless clean, had every amenity and a fabulous location with parking. A big plus is that the house is pet-friendly so we could bring our doggy. We enjoyed the view from the comfortable window seat, it was very quiet and had a lot of sunshine coming from the garden. The neighborhood was amazing, within a few minutes walk with great shops, restaurants, etc, and a few minutes drive to the city centre of Bath. The communication with Tamsin was excellent, she was quick to respond to my questions. I will definitely book it again next time we are visiting Bath.

Had a lovely stay at Sungate with our 3 young children. Our oldest two loved the lights in their room, and everyone played with the egg chairs! What a lovely find, super useful that Co-Op is over the road, and regular buses into the city centre from just outside the door. Will be visiting again!

Sungate is all amazing, such a wonderful home! Our son settled so quickly and loved watching the fireplace also. We braved the bus into town with him and, although very busy, he coped well before a trip back up on the bus. Thank you so much!

We had a four night stay at Sungate with our five year old autistic son. It was very spacious with plenty of room for him to run around and several sleeping options with the two singles and single room along with the double. Lots of sensory toys and equipment and the lights in the twin room were amazing – our son loved them! We caught the bus round Bath, the stop is literally across the rd.

There’s a Co-op opposite the bungalow and two take away options too for those that can’t go out much. We didn’t go far as our son has no danger awareness and finds some things too overwhelming, even so we had a fabulous time. Also the city farm which is free is a four five min walk down the hill where he could run and see animals – just another bonus for the holiday.

Great place for a quiet holiday like ours or a really good base for exploring. And our hosts Tamsin and David were brilliant offering to drop things round; nothing was too much for them. Thank you to both of you for an amazing holiday!

Great house! Recommended to anyone with or without autism. My grandaughter loved the bedroom with wall lights and projector. Would definitely stay again. So near Bath also!

We had such a nice time here, all the details were thought of – comfy beds, coffee and hot chocolate pods, little cakes and so much more! The house had a lovely feel really clean and stylish so it felt really special! So close to Bath and lots of nearby places to visit – we went into the city, visited the animals in the city farm and had a roast at the Boathouse. We had nice sunshine so sat outside on the bench in the sun drinking our coffee! Lovely stay!

Sungate is a beautiful bungalow. It’s absolutely spotless inside and you’ve thought of everything when it comes to travelling with an autistic person, and so relaxing for us too as we didn’t have to move things out the way or worry about anything. Co-op over the road made it super easy getting any bits we’d forgotten or fancied! Bath City Farm within walking distance was an easy day out and the having all the information we could possibly need on an app on my phone was genius.

Highly recommend Sungate to all. The welcome message on the notice board and the millionaires shortbread just added to our fabulous stay. Thanks again!

I would like to say a very big thank you for our wonderful stay at Sungate! You have a beautiful home. We love the fact you have thought of everything and it was autism friendly, calming, with beautiful soft furnishing.

J has not been away for years and he felt so relaxed in a new environment. He slept in the smallest bedroom and slept all night. The kitchen was safe with magnet locks. Thank you for the amount of choice in coffee, hot chocolate and cake. I would highly recommend Sungate!

We loved our 4 day stay at Sungate! The bungalow was very clean, warm and cosy with lots of added extras. Both kids loved the sensory toy box and the youngest (4) spent lots of time playing in the tunnel.

My eldest (9) has ASD and chose the smallest bedroom as he liked the cosiness, he was so comfortable he actually slept in here on his own which is unheard of for him. He also loved the powder rainfall shower and the supersoft towels.

Great location for exploring Bath but also only 40 mins away from both Longleat and Wookey Hole.

We all loved the lights on the fire in the evening after a long days exploring.

We stayed at Sungate for the weekend me my partner and our autistic son. We could not fault the bungalow at all.

The thought and organisation that has gone into the bungalow was beyond our expectations. All the extra touches made it a safe environment and a home from home for our son for example the spinning egg chair, the swing, the lights in the bedroom, the safe bed all added an extra layer of comfort for our son to feel at home.

The App that they have developed gave us loads of info about the bungalow from how to get in the front door to local information about the surrounding area, the how to videos really made our trip easier.

We could not have asked for more everything the family have done to the bungalow helped go towards a less stressful trip for our son and us.

We would highly recommended Sungate to anybody with an autistic child or even if you have not. We will definitely be coming back for future breaks.

It made a huge difference staying somewhere that fully catered for our severely Autistic daughter.

All your safety features we’re spot on and even gave us some ideas for home.

Thank you, a lovely relaxing few days had by all! The millionaire cakes were a nice touch, and Sungate is a really nice cottage in a nice quiet location.

Sungate has good bus links to get you into Bath City Centre and if you’re going to visit the Roman Baths go after 6pm when it’s quieter.

Recommended as an ideal base for anyone who wants to visit Bath and the surrounding areas.

The kitchen is really well stocked, the fireplace is gorgeous and the beds really comfortable. We had a great time and will definitely return for future visits to Bath/Bristol.

Myself and my family had a wonderful stay.

It was situated in a nice area ,very close to a local shop and farm!

It was clean and safe for our autistic children. The small shower/ wet room was appreciated for our incontinent child
the decor was warm and cosy yet bright.

My son particularly loved the garden swing and electric fire feature in the living room.

I loved that everything was safe and secure so we could really relax .
