At Sungate we want you to have a truly autism friendly holiday, and this includes providing our guests with an up to date list of autism friendly places to go and things to do during your stay in Bath. When you book with us, we provide you with a personalised digital Sungate guidebook, downloadable to your phone.
The Sungate guidebook provides you with everything you need to know for an autism friendly stay in Bath – from the most autism friendly places to visit and best cafes and restaurants to eat at, right through to the most handy places to park and the best accessible toilets.
Bath offers a range of things to see and do, including parks and tourist attractions, as well as open top bus rides, train journeys and scenic walks in and around the city.
We include our personal autism friendly top picks, which are updated regularly. We have over 10 years’ experience of autism friendly Bath and want to share this with you, including places close to Sungate, and those within the city centre, some of which have free entry and special offers.
Bath City Farm is right on Sungate’s doorstep! Set in 37 acres of land, it has breath-taking views of Bath, a play area, and a range of animals to see. The farm is free to visit and there’s also an inviting cafe. The Farm is autism friendly and holds a range of inclusive events and activities such as meet the animals sessions and free guided walks. There’s parking on site and an accessible toilet.
If you feel like venturing into the city, we give lots of details in our guidebook.
For example, Sydney Gardens, situated by Bath’s Holburne Museum and café, has beautiful walks, Georgian buildings and a new large play area. The new play park, which opened just last year, boasts extra high swings, wooden climbing frames, basketball hoops and a fort. The park is a favourite for our son who likes to sit on the hill at the top of the double slides and take in the view!
There is also a water fountain for you to fill your bottles, a nearby Changing Places toilet, and some more secluded areas if it gets busy. Sydney Gardens is somewhere the family can stay all day when the weather’s nice, with Bath city centre only a short distance away too.
There are many wonderful places to try. Bath is a beautiful city, during peak season and quieter periods. We have a range of exciting autism and family friendly options to share with you!
We also give our recommendations for autism friendly places to eat, autism friendly travel in and around Bath (by foot, bus, train, car and taxi), soft play/trampolining, theatres, cinemas, sensory spaces and shops.
